Unlike New York or other major cities in the US in San Jose’s downtown you can’t find skyscrapers. The cause of this is that a flight path is nearby, so there is height limitation. This gives the city a unique look. There are not so many historic structures due to the re-development of the downtown area but you can find some, like: the DeAnza Hotel or Hotel Saint Claire. Many of the buildings in the city are characterized by having unusual exteriors and painted in bold colors. The Children’s Discovery Museum or the San Jose Repertory Theater is good example for this.
San Jose being the capital of Silicon Valley it is the home of many popular brands. Here can be mentioned Adobe Systems. Hewlett-Packard, despite having its headquarters in San Antonio, has built the San Jose Arena, recently known as HP Pavilion here.

For sporting fans San Jose is a great place to visit being the center of sporting in the Bay Area. Having three soccer, two lacrosse, a baseball, a hockey and an arena football team it can be named a sporting capital. But there also were dozens of now defunct sport clubs which true sports fans still remember.
For walking there are plenty of parks, including Almaden Quicksilver County Park or Alum Rock Park. For fun you can visit California's Great America amusement park. There are also cultural and historical parks you can spend your time at. In these parks there are also held diverse feasts. Such place is the Kelly Park, including a zoo, a Japanese park, a Portuguese park and a historical section too. The Chinese Cultural Garden is also such a place. For lovers of more active resting there is the Raging Water including many slides and other attractions. As in everywhere in the Bay Area in the name of environment friendliness San Jose has many trails, which can be done on foot or on bicycles. Despite having less bay access then the other Bay Area cities it is a great place to visit if you want to a bit of the Pacific. After all days walking you can rest in one of the town’s many restaurants.
As a conclusion: San Jose is an underrated city, but because of its tradition and rich cultural life tourists who visit it will never forget it and will spend a great time here.
