For the much expected summer of 2010, low-cost operator Southwest Airlines is putting forward some irresistible airfare deals. Provided you book your ticket in advance at southwest.com by mid April, you will be able to travel as late as June 23. Prices go as low as $39 for a one way trip and are valid for an interminable list of destinations: Columbus, Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Baltimore, to count just a few of them.
Some of the best deals I have managed to spot at a first glance include Austin to Denver – only $90 one way, or Chicago to Fort Lauderdale, a cross country trip worth of $121. Before going on line to check these amazing Southwest Airlines’ summer specials yourself, there are two very important aspects that you have to take into account: first – Hurry up! The last day to book a discounted flight is April 15, 2010; and second – all these special deals are only valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

You can check Metafares.com for good prices. Add your departure and destination city then choose some of the providers (like Travelgrove, Orbitz or Cheapoair ) via the checkboxes and hit search selected.
I have done a search on your parameters and the best price found was on Cheapoair. It is a United Airlines flight for $574, flight number 2757. This one leaves Islip at 11:30 AM, has got a 2 hours stop in Philadelphia and a 4 hours one in Chicago then arrives to San Diego at 10:35 PM. The return flight leaves at 6:30 AM, has a stop in Denver and one in Philadelphia and gets to Islip at 5:53 PM.
However, there are cheaper flights from the nearby New York- La Guardia. The best I found is on Travelgrove.com, it’s $428.80. It is Midwest Airlines nr. 505 flight leaving New York at 8:40 AM getting to San Diego at 2:27 PM. Return flight leaves at 10:50 AM and arrives at 8:55 PM.
Hope it helped.
